Little Richard has passed away. Known for his wild, flamboyant performing style, Richard He got his start performing jump blues, but he is most famous for songs like “Tutti Frutti,” with was released in the mid-1950s.

Little Richard was among the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s first class of inductees in 1986. He received a Lifetime Achievement Grammy, Also The Library of Congress added “Tutti Frutti” to the National Recording Registry in 2010. Also in 2010 Little Richard was listed as number eight in Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Artists of All Time,”. With his trademark pompadour and makeup, Richard once said he started wearing make up so that he would be less “threatening” while playing white clubs. On May 8th, 2015, Little Richard was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in Memphis.
